Allen W. Robateau, 19, is a sophomore studying pre-business. Phaymus Lifestyle my clothing line is a creative lifestyle group I started my senior year in high school, but I got more serious with it when I entered the Dream It Win It competition in 2009. That is how I learned more about the mentorship program from a former mentee Stephanie Reilly. Born and raised in Southern California. Hobbies are playing basketball and music. Areas of business that I am interested in are Fashion, Real estate, Books, and Films. Quotes that I read to start my day are “Quitting requires no talent” and “Patience, persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success”. I love being a young entrepreneur and with this program the sky is the limit.

Gonzalo Aranda-SandovalBorn in Ciudad Guzman, Jalisco, Mexico on January 6, 1988. I have lived in San Jose and Tracy, CA and I graduated from Merrill F. West High in Tracy, CA in 2006. I am majoring in Entrepreneurship at Fresno State, I work at the Residence Halls as a Resident Advisor and I have been in the Entrepreneur Mentors Program (EMP) for 1 ½ years, my mentors are Pat LaRocca owner of the FIVE restaurant here in Fresno and John Boogaert who has a consulting firm and is a PILOT!! I want to start “DULCE”, which is a Bakery/Café chain with a modern design dedicated to introducing the little known art of Mexican Pastries and Hot-Drinks to non-Hispanic America.”My vision for this business is to have a location that the community feels pride for. I envision the local high school art classes of a particular store creating art according to a transitioning theme for the café every semester. I envision non-Hispanic Americans learning about the history of how the French brought their artisan breads in the 1800’s when they occupied Mexico, and how the Mexican people put their own cultural twist on them and they evolved into what they are eating now. I am going to enter into an agreement with the high schools near each individual store and display student artwork on my walls. Each 3-4 months we will change themes and cycle through new artwork. I am a mentor with NFTE and I help kids from Bullard High School. If you have any suggestions for names, designs, ANYTHING please feel free to let me know! I hope to graduate in May of 2010, and I am staying here in Fresno after college.

I am Kevin Perkins. I am a senior at Fresno State, majoring in Business Administration with an option in Entrepreneurship. I plan to graduate in May 2010 and then enroll in the Craig School of Business MBA program in Fall 2010. Currently, I work as a student assistant on campus at the Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. I also am the President of the Fresno State chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity. In past semesters, I have served as the chapter’s Vice President of Finance and Parliamentarian. Along with holding membership in Alpha Kappa Psi, I also am an active member of the Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization, having served as the organization’s Secretary in the Fall 2009 Semester.
Prior to enrolling at Fresno State, I spent two and half years completing lower division coursework at a community college in my hometown, Bakersfield, CA. While attending Bakersfield College, I also worked full-time at a locally-owned hardware store, Floyd’s General Stores. In the three years I worked for the company, I served positions at all of the company’s five locations that included sales clerk, inventory pricing clerk, shift supervisor/key carrier, and assistant manager. As much as I enjoyed the challenges and opportunities the company offered, I left in August 2008 to further my college education at Fresno State.
My career goal is to one day become a managerial and leadership development consultant, helping both startup entrepreneurs and existing small business owners focus on their core competencies and develop strategies to successfully grow their companies. In the meantime, I am currently working on developing a sports venue review website that will allow sports fans to read and write reviews of sports arenas, stadiums, and ballparks.
In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, attending sports events, playing golf, camping, and spending time with my family and friends.
“Life is full of opportunities. Anyone can see them, but only leaders pursue them.” – Kevin Perkins
